Contango Storage AB was established in 2006. We are an oil storage company with ambitions to renew, develop and increase efficiency within the oil storage market.
Our tools consist of comprehensive branch knowledge and a wide international contact network. We’ve also developed a business model that contributes to storage owner’s profits and to the ability of traders to quickly find the best possible storage solution.
The company’s initiator and founder is Jonas Westerlind. With over 18 years in the industry, he has a deep knowledge of the oil storage industry and excellent international contacts. In 1993 he was involved in starting Scandinavian Tank Storage, a company he also represented as CEO.
Our business idea involves trading oil storage on the European market, offering strategic consulting services for Swedish ports and helping storage holders reach out to the international oil market. Our clients include traders, port authorities, depot owners, oil companies and international chemical companies. This is how we work:
Operative storage owners
We assume responsibility for the marketing and handling of oil storage for depot owners with a focus on the international oil market. Through close cooperation with depot owners, we create alternatives to today’s storage companies. We work to ensure the storage owner increases revenues from storage deals. By doing so, we create better conditions for owners to reinvest in and develop their facilities in order to meet the demands of clients and government authorities. Our service includes marketing, negotiating and administration to clients and authorities.
Storage broking
As a storage trader, we rent out storage for depot owners and traders without administering the facility ourselves during the contracted period. We are always seeking new storage facilities and negotiating the best possible contracts on behalf of our clients. Contango broke storage over the whole of Europe with a focus on North West Europe.
Consulting
We offer a range of consulting services, all of which are designed to strengthen business and increase the knowledge of our clients. Our product offer includes market reports, strategic plans, due diligences, pre-study of business ideas, depot valuations and much more.
Environmental responsibility
Contango has expertise within the environmental field and we treat environmental issues with the utmost seriousness. Our cooperative partners have clear, thoroughly thought through environmental policies and all facilities have been tested and approved according to relevant environmental standards. Through our close cooperation with depot owners, we can make a contribution to increasing knowledge and ensuring that the latest environmental technology is applied. Our own values also ensure that we approach the environmental aspects of our work in a sustainable and responsible manner.
